Your job hunt, simplified

Find roles, apply in 3 minutes with one resume upload, and track every application in one place.

9 steps ~10 min read For job-seekers
Step 01

Find a job on Yocker

Three ways to discover roles.

1. Direct link

Most common — HR shares a Yocker URL like yocker.in/c/acme or yocker.in/#/jobs/123. Click. You land on the role.

2. Browse all jobs

Visit yocker.in/jobs for every public job. Filter by location, type, salary, experience.

3. Branded careers page

Each company has its own page at yocker.in/c/{company-slug}. See all their open roles.

TipBookmark your favorite company's careers page. New roles appear immediately.
Step 02

Read the job carefully

Every Yocker job has the same structure.

What to check

  • Title + company at top, with logo
  • Location + employment type
  • Salary range — only shown if company included it
  • Experience requirements — years min/max
  • Description — what the role is about
  • Requirements — must-have skills
  • Skills — keywords that power the match score

If you're far from the requirements (0 years experience for a senior role), your application is unlikely to surface. Apply to roles that align with your background.

Step 03

Apply with one resume upload

Click "Apply". Designed to take 3 minutes max.

Required fields

  1. Name, email, phone — how the company contacts you. Use a personal email.
  2. Location — your current city
  3. Resume — PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT up to 5MB

AI-assisted parsing

Yocker auto-extracts work experience, education, skills, and contact details from your resume. Review and edit before submitting.

Cover letter (optional)

Some companies ask, others don't. 200-500 words on why you want this specific role.

Screening questions

Many roles include 2-5 custom questions from HR ("Are you authorized to work in [country]?", "What's your notice period?").

TipYocker auto-saves your application as a draft. If your browser crashes, come back and finish.
Heads upYou can apply to each role only once. Withdraw the old one first if you want to update.
Step 04

Sign up or apply as guest

After submit, Yocker offers two paths.

A — Create an account (recommended)

Set a password. Future applications auto-fill from your saved profile. Dashboard at yocker.in/me tracks every application's status.

B — Apply as guest

Skip account creation. Application still goes through. No central tracking; you'll re-enter info next time.

Why we recommend signing upApplications across multiple companies visible in one place + email notifications when status changes.
Step 05

Your applications page

Visit yocker.in/me any time to see every application across every company.

What's there

  • Active applications — roles you're still in the running for
  • Application status — see Step 06
  • Submitted date — when you applied
  • Withdraw button — remove yourself from consideration
Step 06

Understanding your application status

StatusWhat it means
NewReceived. HR hasn't reviewed yet — typically 1-3 business days.
ScreeningHR reviewing your resume. May be contacted for a phone screen.
InterviewPassed initial screening. Expect interview invitations.
OfferCompany preparing or sent an offer.
HiredCongratulations! 🎉
RejectedCompany moved forward with other candidates.

Why no response?

If status hasn't changed in 2+ weeks, the role may still be in review. Yocker doesn't ghost-reject — companies must explicitly mark you rejected.

If the role is closed

Your application is archived. "Position closed" badge appears. Companies have 30 days to reopen and restore your application before it's deleted.

Step 07

Maximize your match score

Every application gets a match score (0-100). Higher scores surface at the top.

How it's calculated

  • Skills overlap — your resume vs job's listed skills (biggest factor)
  • Experience years — yours vs required range
  • Title relevance — how similar your past roles are
  • Education — degree level and field (smaller factor)

How to improve

  1. Use exact skill names from the job posting. "JavaScript" and "JS" aren't always equivalent.
  2. Quantify your experience — "5 years building React applications" beats "Worked on frontend stuff"
  3. List skills in a "Skills" section, not just inside paragraphs
  4. Update resume per role — tailoring matters
  5. Don't keyword-stuff — companies see your full resume, not just the score
Match score isn't everythingRecruiters can see all applications. A perfect match with a sloppy cover letter loses to a 70%-match with strong rationale.
Step 08

Withdraw an application

Changed your mind? Got another offer? Withdraw any active application from your dashboard.

How

  1. Open yocker.in/me
  2. Find the application
  3. Click "Withdraw"
  4. Confirm — this can't be undone

What happens

  • Recruiter sees you've withdrawn
  • You're no longer in active candidate metrics
  • You cannot re-apply to the same role
  • You can still apply to other roles at the same company
Step 09

Privacy & your data

Who sees your application

  • Yes — HR/recruiters at the company you applied to (controlled by their access level)
  • No — other companies on Yocker
  • No — other candidates
  • No — Yocker staff don't browse tenant candidate data

How long is your data kept

  • Active — kept as long as you're in active consideration
  • Withdrawn / rejected — kept by the company for their records
  • Closed-role archives — deleted after 30 days if not reopened
  • Your account — request full deletion by email

Cookies & tracking

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Yocker free for candidates?
Completely free. Paid for by employers. No premium tier, no "boost your application" upsell.
Can I apply to multiple roles at the same company?
Yes — each role separately.
Will my current employer find out?
No. Companies can only see applications to their own jobs.
My resume parsed incorrectly — what now?
Edit the parsed fields before submitting. Yocker uses the form data, not the PDF, for ranking.
Can I get notifications when status changes?
Yes if you sign up. Guest applications don't get notifications.
How long should I wait before following up?
1-2 weeks for "new" → "screening". 2-3 weeks for screening → interview. 4+ weeks: polite follow-up is reasonable.
Why was I rejected with no explanation?
Companies aren't required to share reasons. Don't take it personally — keep applying.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — email privacy@yocker.in from your registered email. Deleted within 7 days.
