How to Download TikTok Videos Without the Watermark
TikTok's Save button stamps a logo on every video. Here is how to save the clean MP4 on Android, iPhone or a computer, with no app and no login.

When you tap Save video inside TikTok, the file you get has the TikTok logo and the creator's username moving around the frame, plus a branded clip at the end. That's fine for sharing a TikTok, but not if you want a clean copy of your own video, or footage you have permission to edit. This guide shows how to get the version without the watermark.
Why the watermark isn't permanent
TikTok stores each video without any logo. The watermark is added only when you export through the app. A downloader that works from the video's link asks TikTok for the stored file instead, so nothing needs to be "removed" or blurred, and the picture quality is untouched.
Step by step
- Open the video in TikTok and tap the Share arrow.
- Tap Copy link.
- Open the TikTok Video Downloader in your browser and paste the link.
- Choose a quality and tap Download.
Short links from the app, the ones that start with vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com, work exactly like full tiktok.com/@name/video/… links.
On iPhone
Use Safari. After tapping Download, tap the download arrow in the address bar, open the file, then tap Share → Save Video to put it in Photos. The full explanation is in where downloaded videos go.
On Android
The file goes to your Downloads folder and usually shows up in your gallery within a few seconds.
On a computer
Open the video on tiktok.com, copy the address from the address bar and paste it into the downloader.
Which quality should I pick?
TikTok keeps several versions of each video. When more than one is available you'll see them listed, best first. Two things are worth knowing:
- The highest resolution is usually 1080p; older or re-uploaded videos may only exist in 720p or lower. A downloader cannot create detail that isn't in the original.
- TikTok also stores some videos in a newer format (HEVC) that older phones and editing apps can't open. The downloader prefers the H.264 version, which plays everywhere.
Things that won't work
- Private videos and private accounts. Only videos anyone can watch without logging in can be downloaded.
- Videos where the creator disabled downloads are still viewable publicly, so the link usually works, but please respect that choice. The creator is telling you they don't want copies made.
- Photo slideshows. These are a series of images with music, not a video file, and aren't supported yet.
- Live streams.
Is TikTok available where you are?
TikTok is blocked in a few countries. If the TikTok website doesn't open for you, links from it won't open for you either; that is a network restriction, not a problem with the video.
Using downloaded TikToks responsibly
The clean file makes it easy to repost a video somewhere else, and that is exactly where people get into trouble. Reposting someone else's TikTok without permission can lead to copyright strikes and account bans on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok itself.
